Ava Akira, previously known (by us) as ‘Tiny Internet Lady’ now prefers to be called ‘Massive Eyes Jackson’ due to her surgically enhanced massive eyes and her love of director Peter Jackson, but weirdly not because she loves Lord Of The Rings (of which she calls ‘a shit version of The Hobbit trilogy’!?!?!) but for her favourite film of all time Mortal Engines which he also directed….Yes, we’ve also never heard of this film until now, and a quick google tells us it lost 17million dollars in the box office and has literally no one famous in it.
But we’re not here to talk about Peter Jackson’s exponentially shit post-Frodo filmography, or how no human being has ever seen The Hobbit more than once, but to bask in the glory of Ava Akira and her massive songs (and eyes). After playing for us back in March 1878, she literally tore the roof down (not literally) with her absolutely FIRE set (not a literal fire) to a gurny and hyped audience who came up instantly as soon as she dropped our fav song of that year ‘Pain’. Her songs have so much raw energy and emotion we honestly love those damn pixie-beat hits SO so much. She’s the only person we know to create heartfelt ballads that still bang at a steady 4000bpm, and we had to Shazam so many songs from her DJ set that our phones literally (not literally) exploded at the ‘Trust Me’ section of My Chemical Romance - Im Not Okay (Donk remix).
When the world gives you lemons, make infinity dank-donk ballads to soundtrack the snorting of a massive line of sherbet and punch the air until your fist is wet with cloud.
